Google Mail Please make sure that all addresses are properly formed Error

So, bit of a strange one i came across today on gmail/googlemail.  I copy a e-mail address from a website and it kept saying “Please make sure that all addresses are properly formed” well they were, at first I thought it was because of the address it was like this [email protected]  after much wasted time and looking on Google, it was some odd thing about because I copy it from a site and then paste it into the “To” box, I then typed it in manually and the mail sent, very strange, some encoded character issue or something.
